Prof. Budiman has recently just secured a multimillion dollar grant from the National Research Foundation (NRF) to help research and develop the next generation of thin silicon solar cells through its famed Energy Innovation Research Program (EIRP). One of only 5 teams that won the awards this year.

Other teams include National University of Singapore (NUS), Nanyang Technological University (NTU) and Renewable Energy Company (REC) Solar Pte Ltd – the five research teams share a total of $14 million in grants to enable innovations in materials and technologies to bring down solar PV cost to grid parity, thus bringing renewable energy adoption faster globally.
